Feedback

Amy says: Loves it!!!! Links with the pop/rock genre really well and all the pages link together a really good magazine eye catching and very attractive .

The Goddess says: Good representation of genre, with creative colour and scheme. Images are well taken and well placed. Double page is well linked, the reader is conscious that the two pages are linked together. Contents page is easy to read and navigate. The scheme carries through to each page. On the double page spread some text is out of synchronisation with the rest of the page and the text is where the slit would be in the page.

Kate: I love the three products and how they all link together. The colour, image and text all work well together and draw the reader’s eye. The front cover is original and aesthetically pleasing to the eye; the image is bold and eye catching drawing the eye to the front cover. The images link with the page due to the colour match seen in the people. The contents links well with the front cover and the spread with a good use of image and text. However I do believe that the text may be slightly too big, therefore limiting the amount of text that can be seen. I love the spread, it flows with the contents and front cover with an unusual layout that attracts the reader’s eye and draws them into the page. The use of images is excellent with the arrangement of the band members on the red box. However the only concern that I have is where the page split will lie and if it may cause some of the text not to be freely visible. Overall the products are brilliant, appealing to the target audience and drawing them into each individual page.

Rach: Your products all look good together, I love the colour scheme and the editing you have done to the photo on the front cover, I think that your text on the double page spread could be better set out and you could make it smaller to fit more text on the page.

Jack Barlow: Front cover: The colour scheme (Red, Black and White) works well. The colours compliment each other well. Although… There is a lot of white space with nothing going on and it makes the page look too plain in parts. Contents page: Here, the white works well because you also have the faded black, the title should be “What’s”, not “Whats” Double Page Spread: Again, the colour scheme is great and on the white background, looks fine. The text with pictures scattered around is an interesting mix and the picture in the bottom left is great , I can’t see anything wrong with this that’s worth improving.

Chris: The front cover is very good; the band is clearly shown and is clearly the focal point of the front cover. However the pug is very bland and unimaginative, which in turns makes it ineffective. The contents page is very good. It is clear what the articles are and what pages they are one. The images edited are very unique, by using an irregular shape; the images themselves are shown to be very effective. However, the image used to show the page number can be improved. The double page spread is very busy, making it very interesting and well put together. The images are edited very well to give the impression they are standing around the box. The text is well laid and uses a good font to make the text clear. Again, the page numbers can be improved on the pages.

Improved Products

These are my final products so far after making improvements from previous feedback. The colour red is used through out my products and is bold and vibrant, this will stand out for the reader and could represent passion for music. The front cover could be seen as a conventional cover as it has a masthead at the top of the product and a heading below, it also has a pug and a banner at the bottomn of the page. In contrast my magazine cover could be seen as an unconventional cover due to the lack of subheadings on the page saying what is inside the magazine. I have used red for the name of band as it is a powerful colour and i have used a black outline so that it stands out more .
My contents page did have a plain white background, however i faded the title and placed it in the background. Yet again the colour scheme is continued throughout and the text is easy to read at a average size. The fonts used are the same or very similar to the the ones used on the front cover and spread. The images are placed in shapes that i have used on my double page spread and makes my contents page look less neat and tidy. I have also put the page numbers by the images so it is easier for the reader to find the page that relates to the article.
My double page spread links in with the cover and contents page through the colour scheme and shapes. I created the image of the band on a block with seperate images using fireworks. I used the fonts previously used and placed a quote from the band in the middle of the page, this is big so it will attract my target audience an hopefully draw them to the article.
